Envisioning sustainable cities and communities (SDG11)
In this workshop children can create their vision for sustainable cities. This activity will foster:
- critical thinking by encouraging participants to assess the current design of cities and incorporate sustainable principles into their designs
- creativity by thinking outside the box and creating public spaces that secure wellbeing for all species
- collaboration byworking together on creating a city where community can thrive
- communication by expressing their vision and negotiating their ideas and demands with their peers

From 2h to full day
Target group(s):
Young people from 6 to 16.
Content:
In a first step, we explore how the urban environment is today and how well it considers principles of sustainability and child-friendliness. In a second step, we develop ideas for a more sustainable urban environment. In a third step we will build our vision with lego bricks.
The workshop can be focused on different topics:
- environmental city planning
- trees in the city
- urban mobility
- water in the city
- animal migration in the city
- urban agriculture
